GZCMM Initiative Goals

The CMM Recovery and Utilization Initiative aligns itself with the goals of the Methane to Markets Partnership

and will pursue its mission in Guizhou so that:

1. CMM is widely perceived as a clean energy source and coal mines take actions to improve their drainage and utilization systems;
2. CMM recovery and utilization projects are developed with international involvement in 2-3 coal mines in Guizhou through this project;
3. Through demonstration projects, other coal mines in Guizhou see CMM projects economically benefit with coal production and increased mine safety and begin to pursue similar projects;
4. A better understanding of the magnitude of CMM that is liberated by small coal mines in Guizhou is realized and appropriate strategies are formed to mitigate the emission that they produce.
